स्वधर्मॆ निधनं श्रॆयः परधर्मॊ भयावह |
The transliteration of title is as follows:
svadḥarmē nidḥanaṃ śrēyaḥ paradḥarmō bhayāvah
Here is a bit about me. Protecting my privacy but giving you a picture of what and who I am as a person, so that you can understand why my articles have a nature of their own.
The meaning of the subheading is: It is an honour to die doing one’s duty and terrible to do what is not one’s duty.
An Indisputable Ancient Heritage
You might have guessed from my name that I am a Bharatiya (aka “Indian”) by birth and blood. More specifically I am a proud Punekar (meaning a person from Pune, and a practising Sanātani (aka Hindu).
Pune was formerly Poona, about 150 km from Mumbai, formerly Bombay) and is a centre of learning and rooted in golden history of the Marātḥas.
At heart, I am a teacher of the good old school. You guessed it, conservative to the core, uncompromisingly loyal to traditional British English. Yet, I have not forgotten the terrible happenings of the empire.
Indeed, I love good diction, good grammar and the good old style of writing. I am, admit, not a fan of SEO, when it comes to my writing.
Am Old School
Not to forget, I was trained to learn from the great writers. Today, one is taught to learn from a monster called Google. I will not apologise.
In my humble opinion, modern writing is too dry, too dull, too drab for my old school brain. Modern language carries no life.
Autocracy of the Industrial Giants
I do do not subscribe to the theory that the writers should write as per Google’s wishes. Grammarly and such ‘applications’. do not belong to my world.
My teachers were excellent and I trust them more than an inanimate electronic program.

As a student of English literature, I understand that a language is dynamic. At the same time, I defend the ornaments of language.
Rooted In an Ancient Heritage of Deep Spirituality
Spirituality has nothing to do with Dḥarma. However, there is no equivalent for it in English. The closest term is righteousness. My worldly interaction does not touch my inner sphere.
My inner sphere is dedicated to a very ancient spiritual āgama tradition and am on the path blessed by my Guru. The word is misused today beyond all limits. Am a committed Śāktēya.
A Soldier’s Heart
Apart from that, I was a trainee soldier (am still a soldier at heart) and when addressing officers, I still follow the protocol. The one characteristic of a soldier is his uncompromising loyalty.
International Air Freight and Customs Specialist
Additionally I a trained freight forwarder (International air freight) with twenty three years of experience in the field.
I have managed mini, small, large and huge freight (full aircraft loads) to a total of over thirty eight destination in the world.
At Home in the Field of Psychology
Additionally, I am a certified Neuro Linguistic Practitioner (master practitioner) (IGNLP/UK and a certified member of IGPPA/UK) .
Added to that I am a certified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy practitioner. Since, I have undergone trauma, I decided to follow this path. My eBook Overcoming Unhappiness is available for purchase here.
Writing as Therapy
Writing is my passion and I started writing when I was fifteen. Since June 2024 I am writing on Medium and my main theme is The Lone Path Home, which is my take on life based on my own experience.
NO to Artificial Intelligence
That is an absolute NO GO. There is no denying the fact that I am still the custodian of my intelligence and faculties. Hence, I am not a slave of artificial intelligence.
Money is NOT my focus. Happy to earn it but am not a slave to it.
A Vegetarian, A Teetotaller, Non-Smoker
A committed person to the above principles. However, I shall not tell you what you path you should follow. Each person is the master of his destiny.
